Our pizza dough is fermented slowly and baked Neapolitan-style in a Gozney oven. The result: a crust with crisp edges, a soft chew, and just enough hot melted cheese and topping — never too much, never too little.

We found Pasta Basta completely by chance while walking down the street in Mangawhai. It’s a small little shop, and honestly, we were a bit unsure about the food quality. And we were so wrong! This was honestly one of the best pizzas and prawn garlic pastas I’ve ever had. We ordered the prawn garlic pasta and a small pizza, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. My friend loved it so much that she’s already talking about driving all the way back to Mangawhai just for the food, even though it’s nearly a 2-hour drive from Auckland! If you’re in the area, don’t let the size of the shop fool you. It’s a small stall serving incredibly high quality food. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!
Joy Vo2 months agoOwner is lovely and the pizza was delicious. Made us a plant based pizza and added some extra local hot honey on top. Cool vibe with music, picnic tables and sunshine.
Hannah Fittings2 months agoI suddenly craved for a pasta and this is the closest one in my area, which is almost 30 mins drive. But it is all worth it!! His Chicken Alfredo Pasta and truffle fries are legit. Big portions and will serve to you freshly cooked.
